you mean a DOA deal?

I've got a twin G34 server board with a short in the 3rd ram rail that was just "open box"... they don't test em anymore.

Yeah bro. But you get teh LED Light Show! Its like Christmas in your Computah!

Plus you get the Extreme to the MAX on-board Audio Chip from Creative with a 5.25" Bay DAC! A $200 value for FREE biggrin.gif

you get BUILT-IN WIFI AND BLUETOOTH! WOOOOT!!

Let not forget LN2 COOLING SUPPORT!

They also offer GAMING UTILITIES like their widely celebrated Auto-Overclocker! It offers Stability like never before!

Or the much vaunted GameFirst IV to give your network packets an edge!
/Enthusiasm

Yeah get a $300 board without the gimmicks and grab yourself a second GPU with the savings!

I'll admit my Asrock Extreme 6 was pretty awesome, but nabbing this RIVBE for $250 did net me 200MHz with the same settings. I'll probably be doing the same when I see another Rampage V go for ~$250. Maybe the decacore CPU will be affordable by then? tongue.gif

I'm sure this is a great board and all, but man, it looks like it should be on a display on Las Vegas Blvd. What ever happen to the days of companies focusing on product innovation, quality, etc? Now a days it's the "Bling Wars." And todays weapon of choice for the bling wars is RGB lighting.

Looks really good. I love the balance between futuristic and minimalistic styles.

I'm all for the RGB to be honest... it makes it easier on companies and consumers... make one black white or grey and add RGB and you can fit any color scheme in the book with it.

I just really really wish Asus would put out a White Snow edition board for X99.... otherwise it looks like I will be going with vinyl wrap for the new build I can match it with the black and red GA board I have laying around.

Yea I couldn't find any picture of any backplate that has been built like that.

I gotta say I like the built in I/O shield and I gotta think the supreme fx hi fi amp has gotta be adding a good cost to this board as well. Personally as I'm sure a lot of people already have an audio setup and don't need it.

The "Bling Wars" have been going on a long time. Oh the heatpipes of days gone by. Same song, different dance.
