Question, how's your 6800k running on the Asus Rampage? Are you stable at 4.4Ghz using around 1.35v?

I'm pretty sure most would consider 1.46v "tons of volts" lol. And a 4.4ghz low voltage binned chip is by definition already a "really lucky" chip. It's absurd to think that adding more than an extra 100mv wouldn't net you 100mhz, even with a Broadwell chip; on my 5960X which hits 4.5ghz at 1.3v, i can hit 4.6ghz if i spam voltage up to ~1.4v It's universal that you can almost always get another 100mhz by using insane voltage increases, but broadwell-e is just bizarre frankly...

And that's not true, a 6800K was exactly what i needed if it was actually anywhere near what it was supposed to be. Broadwell-E was supposed to have ~10% single core IPC increase, but i'm getting LESS single core performance on a 4.4 6800K than i was on a 4.6 5960X (and the 5960X has WEAKER cores than the 5820K/5930K too!). The whole point of me getting a 6800K was that a 4.4ghz 6800K is equal in multi-core performance to a stock 3.5ghz 5960X despite having 2 less cores, but would get a few percent extra single core performance to get me closer to 6700K performance in games and such, while retaining stock 5960X mult-core perf for my video rendering and editing work etc.. Sadly, that isn't the case like many people were claiming.

And yes i am indeed stable at that speed/voltage.

I guess it depends on what you are doing to notice a 10 percent difference but I doubt I would notice a difference in real world applications. Sucks that you aren't satisfied. Perhaps you should get the Intel Tuning Warranty and replace the chip down the line in hopes that a new batch overclocks better.

Congrats on the sweet chip. A 4.4 6800k is pretty sweet. I believe the price has risen $10-$15 since I bought mine. Can't wait to mach it with my Rampage V and either the EVGA FTW or Galax HOF. Whichever comes in stock first this week is the winner!

My stable 4.4 6800k has a slightly higher 3D mark score than an unstable 4.5 5820k. Both processors seem to over clock very similarly from my experience. I have my processor stable at 1.36/1.96.

So far so good. Not as good of an over locker as my old 3770k at 4.6ghz but nonetheless it's fast. It's slightly faster than the 5820k at similar clocks. Im testing it out now with my RAM at 3200mhz which is what it's labeled to be. I have the system agent at 1.1 and the VCIO at 1.05. It was stable for 1 hr cine bench going to do more.

I'm also coming from a 3770k 4.7Ghz. I noticed hiccups in performance lately so it was time for something new. Anyway, which ram kit did you get?

What made a huge difference in stability was manually entering the timings and more importantly the voltage. I saw at auto it was going to a much higher DRAM voltage.

R15 is not a stability test, it is a benchmark
