Is it safe to remove the backplate from the board? It bends in my Enthoo Lixe unless I take off all the rubber grommets from the case.

Why not remove the grommets instead?

That's what I did now. Gonna be tricky to hide all the cables though hehe

I did the same thing using my case. Came out looking nice.

It is completely safe to remove the back plate. I had to remove the backplate, AND the grommets to get the board to properly fit inside my Evolv ATX. You'll likely have to do the same. I also had to use a crapton of vinyl tape for insulation, and leave the screws along the right side of the motherboard at around 70% tightened. In the top right corner, specifically, tightening the tip-right most screw too much causes the de-bug LED to have some weird brightness shift. And I experience some issues with my 1080's in SLI originally before insulating the board further. Though I love my Evolv ATX and this board, I'm starting to consider switching cases to something like the In Win 909 instead.

Was it easy to remove the backplate? Are the LED's stuck to it? Is there a power cable?

Removing the backplate and LED's is pretty easy and and straight forward. Three screws on the front, one on the rear. The LED's are on a PCB mounted to the backplate. After removing the screws you only need to unplug a cable from the motherboard. It can only go back in one way also, so re-installation is easy.

AURA and all other LED's function fully without it, as well.

Thank you. Good info for the future if I ever decide to swap cases. Have you tried to remove the heatsinks at all?
