GPU Watercooling

Thread Starter
I am wanting to do a custom loop with the cpu and the gpu. The CPU is pretty straight forward, but I am having issues finding a block for the XFX R9 390. If I can't find a dedicated block, will I be able to use a generic block if I have a small fan to cool the rest of the GPU? By the way you guys have been really helpful so far thumb.gif

Contact EK see if there r9 390 reference block still fits your xfx, if its a reference block it should fit. If not yes you can do a universal waterblock but you can also do an alphacool waterblock as they make em for every r9 390, its a watercooled core then passively cooled VRMs, its the one im using on my sapphire r9 390.

I know the 390 was a rebrand of the 290, do they use the exact same PCB design? If so, then 290 blocks should fit right? That might broaden your compatible parts list.

XFX changed the VRM section of the board. the 290 cooler no longer fits on their 390.
