[Solved] Problem updating Nvidia Drivers for GTX 970m on Gigabyte P55 v5 (Windows 10 64)

Hey all, long time no post.

I have recently purchased a Gigabyte P55 with a GTX 970M/Intel HD5600 graphics. (auto switching graphics) I have never gamed on this laptop yet, but I have updated it from Windows 7 to Windows 10.

I recently tried playing The Witcher, and at low/medium settings it ran at 5FPS. This led me to believe that It was trying to run on onboard graphics, which I confirmed that it was.

So I uninstalled all graphics Drivers, and downloaded new graphics drivers from the Gigabyte website. I then attempted to reinstall Nvidia drivers downloaded from Gigabyte, presuming they are packed with the right software for switching, and the installer fails the system check. Error:

"The graphic driver could not find compatible graphics hardware"

Error. Anyone have any luck solving this?

I had a similar problem a few times with my old Asus G53. It has been quite some time since then but I believe I found drivers that would work at LaptopVideo2Go.

Verify the video card shows up correctly in your device manager. Download and install the latest drivers from NVIDIA Driver Downloads. If that fails use the Display Driver Uninstaller program and try again. Let us know if that works.

Thanks for the help guys! It turns out I had the "display adapter: disabled" in my bios!
