[OverclockersClub]Overclock showdown: GTX 980Ti vs GTX 1070 vs GTX 1080 - Page 5

Finally a review that shows the real deal instead of these noob websites who dont have a clue and always throw in 2x AA or 4x AA all the time even in 4K. I like raw numbers, overclockersclub is the best website ever. Looks like if you game at 1440p, or 2560x1600, or 3440x1440, or 4K the GTX 1080 is def worth it. Yeah it sucks that it costs more than $500 ( which is the most I want to pay for any graphics card ) but hey if you want the best looks like we gotta swallow the extra $200 for this superstar midrange card till the big boyz arrive on 16nm.

Included, Shipping to is about $20, Shipping back from EVGA is only $11.55. Too bad they couldn't given me a paid label at that rate for shipping to.

If the 1080 is really around the $450 mark, I'll definitely upgrade.

You mean 1070 right?
It's looking more and more likely that my next GPU will be the 1070.
The performance gap will get worse for Maxwell cards as well. I am sure Nvidia will pull another Kepler and just stop releasing optimizations for it (if they havent already internally) only focusing on the latest gen. Gotta give people a reason to upgrade!

Am I the only one who actually still owns a Kepler card and doesn't see the driver bull people keep spouting? Seriously, almost no one who touts that NVidia has killed kepler cards with bad drivers actually has a kepler card from what I've seen. I have a kepler card. It runs great, its really old. Even with the 10 series releasing I feel no immediate need to upgrade my gpu. Where the hell is this "NVidia killed kepler" crap coming from? They are great cards and still perform fantastically well.

They never really killed it but stopped optimizing. when you bought it how much faster it was compared to 280x/7970 ? look at how faster it is now ( actually slower in some games ). if you can't see the difference than you are blind.period. heck there are people who upgraded from 680 to 780. 7970 got that upgrade from just the drivers. talk about better support there. most people don't want to acknowledge amd gave better support so instead they trash nvidia for gimping kepler.

i had GTX 670 that time. and i have seen how 7970 was slower but now its much much faster. there's a reason why i'm mostly salty against nvidia even though i'm an nvidia user and i won't lie i'll still buy nvidia gpu because i don't want to loose 3dvision. when i buy a gpu i buy it because it's faster and has better p/$, 560ti/670 both had that at the time i bought them. but it vanished pretty quickly. it feels like once you give them your money they don't really care. a fake value.

I also love that I can replace my 1 year old $300 970 with a $379 1070 and get 50% more performance. Awesome.
Forget 380USD price..1070 will be 430USD and UP just like GTX1080 is not 599USD card.
Most aftermarket 1080 are 650-750 so GTX1070 will be 430-500USD card

With AMD not being able to rival the speeds of GTX1080 this could slow down the transparency of the cards speed being implemented into future game releases. So this could mean my GTX980ti could be alright for another season..
