Extra cost of GPUs/etc on far away islands, Countries/etc ?

Thread Starter
In relative currency terms and cost of living, etc, how much more expensive is it to import hi-tech like GPUs/etc ?????? Into say Siberia, New Zealand, little Island nations in the middle of the oceans, u get the point. Siberia and NZ r closer to the point of manufacture than I am (on) Newfoundland, Canada, but I suspect they pay more.

If here in Can/US we pay $1000CAD for a 980 Ti, did they pay 1200, 1500, 2000 ?????????? in places way far way or in the middle of Africa, or some little island in the middle of an ocean ???????

What about in countries under Imperial attack and/or Imperial occupation like Syria, Iraq, Sudan, Afghanistan, Palestine ??????????

I wish the Imperial Empire or the LOTR rulers would set me up on some of these places to study such things in person rather than by internet with my mundane life

It really depends. I know plenty of French retailers that ship to French islands and so forth for pretty damn low fees. Id be more worried about import fees/tax then shipping.

My educated guess would be most of those place order from inland or something. Steam is the only thing i can think of that has MASSIVE price differences between the poor countries and the rich. ie euro compared to the Indian Rupee.

For me a 1080 is 790€ but people get paid more here, NOW unfortunately my money and disability goes direct into my US account, if i pay a 1080 here would end up (for me) costing around 890$. Part of the problem is the crazy tax we have here. 5% tax instead of 20 would make it 670€.
