If I end up with a 1440p 144Hz monitor that isn't IPS are games like the Witcher going to look bad? Will a notice a big difference in the visual quality? I am kind of a geek for liking all the shininess of playing games on Ultra.

I am now leaning towards the Acer you guys mentioned or a BenQ 144Hz 27" monitor, again, as long as there isn't a huge hit to graphics quality. The last few posts have really helped me out so thanks and +Rep to you all.

Overwatch doesn't support 21:9 anyways tongue.gif.

Games aren't going to look "bad" without an IPS, but the IPS will have better colors. If you haven't been calibrating your monitors anyways, it probably isn't going to matter a whole lot.

@Dargonplay that's additional input lag due to signal processing time and response time. It doesn't count the refresh delay which is 16.67ms for 60hz and 6.94ms for 144hz

Derp. You're right, I don't know what I was thinking.

60 FPS 16.6ms

144 FPS: 6.9ms

Excluding everything else.

did anybody really think battleborn was going to be more successful? You know blizzard has fanboys? few even know who made battleborn. Not to mention the global marketing campaign.

IMO it was a given it would be successful. Whether or not it was actually earning the success on its own merits.

I know who made Battleborn but never bough any of their games cause they had Nvidia tech.

In the same way that World of Warcraft is redesigned Everquest, and Hearthstone is redesigned Magic: The Gathering.

This is what Blizzard does: take an existing genre, strip out the bad, and keep the awesome.

I'm trying to figure out where the three WarCraft's, three Diablo's and the two StarCraft's fit into this analogy.

Ugh seeing statements comparing Hearthstone to MTG seems blasphemous. The only similarities they share is being card games. Hearthstone is as dumb downed as a game genre can be even making things like pokemon and yu-gi-oh seem complex by comparison. If Wizards had done a better job of overhauling their mtgo client when the age of high speed internet came into being I really think they could have prevented hearthstone from ever being made. The variety of cards, deck types, backstory, new content and fantastic community will never be rivaled in an online card game ever again. Not to mention you could redeem your online cards for real ones if you completed an entire set. Some of my best gaming memories ever were sitting at an abysmally slow desktop pc connected by dial-up modem and playing prismatic 2hg with clan members.

HS pretty much owns the online CCG space alone (50++ mil players), MTGO doesnt even begin to compare, MTGO is just an awful horrible experience

physical MTG is the best TCG though

the competitive mode and further free updates will make OW an even bigger sucess then it already is
