Auria EQ 27" IPS Monitor finally crapped the bed (new power supply didnt fix) - Time to shop for a new monitor!

Hey all OCN experts, I am in the market for a new monitor now that my beloved korean 27" IPS crapped the bed. I spent $50 to replace the power supply and it still wont work, so I must assume it has died permanently.

That said, I do ALOT of work on this computer and I also game on it quite extensively. I prefer a G-Sync monitor, if given the choice, because i dont use AMD graphics

Since The Witcher 3 Expansion just game out, I am dying to play it on something other than my laptop. So I am in the market for a monitor, but for RPG games and Dark Souls, and occasionally shooters.

Please recommend me a monitor for a $600 or so price range:

24-27" monitor
1440p + resolution
IPS
Excellent brightness levels (huge complaint of mine with the Auria was the cruddy backlighting)

Basically a monitor that meets the above specs and has the best ms response time and highest refresh rate will win, so long as its sub $600.
