Best z170 motherboard?

Can any one suggest which would be the best motherboard to go for, looking at gigabyte and Asus, its all for gaming purposes in a new build smile.gif

I'll start by saying that I don't know the answer. Those that do will need more information though.

What kind of budget do you have in mind?
What size build are you planning? ATX, or do you want something smaller?
Do you plan to use single video card or multiple?
Any special considerations such as M.2 SSD support or an extra Ethernet port?
Do you care what it looks like?

I'm personally using a Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z170. It suits my needs, & I haven't had any problems with it. I know it's not the best board by any means, but I feel it was worth the asking price. I'm also not sure about its general availability. I got it from an OEM, but I haven't seen it for sale standalone in the US. I don't know if the situation is different where you are.

Hi there,

Im looking at buying Intel 6700K & nvidia 1080 single card set up, thinking on getting evga platnum psu, not sure on ram or motherboard as of yet, looking at the corsair 540 case with a corsair water cooler, not sure what monitor to get 144 or 1440 just trying to get an idea of what price the whole build would be so in terms of budget im not to fussed would like to know every ones input, thanks
