This is over, form submited. If they don't invite me to the interview, i also applied to other places. The problem is that there r at least 20 other ppl applying for every job too. Seems the job hunt might take awhile.

LOL! When I was applying for faculty positions in biochemistry back in the mid-1970s there were 200-300 applicants for every opening. Lots of PhDs and a very small number of open positions.

I personally think these are great questions to ask, depending on their expectations. If they need some cookie cutter developer lemming that only does what they ask, no this is dumb, but if they are looking for someone who can think outside the box, imaginative, and can communicate, then this makes sense. When I get a chance to interview some people to work under me, i am going to have them play some simple boardgame in flash vs and AI they probably have never seen, give them 15 minutes to play it, and then talk me trough how the game works and the strategies they created. I am always working on something different and new, so being an expert at C++ might be good this week, but next week or month they might need to do Python. I just need an average programmer who can learn and communicate. To me, these things are like an IQ test. When i talk to them, that is when i hope to determine their determination\work ethic. IMO, someone with a High IQ that is motivated can do anything. They are perfect if you need a jack of all trades, but lack luster in most other cases.

That's a whole lot different to asking a random question from a film that the person my not have seen.
