So I decided to watercool my KFA black 980ti and....

Holy marry mother of god (sorry no preaching on this forum but I couldn't think of anything else to say non offensive tongue.gif)
On air with ambient around 20c my 980ti was getting into the mid 80's which prompted me to buy a waterblock for it, as my cpu is cooled anyway. As soon as it was safe from leaks ( there was a few :/) and the temps just amazed me, 20c ambient 25 idle and 32 load, while the cpu is around 27-28 idle.
Now as soon as you see them temps you start to think, hmmm how far can this card go with o/c
I didn't get much with the core but I will be testing for 1500, it started to black out at anything over 1550, raising the volts didn't do much either but when i got down to testing the RAM. I was able to get it up to 4300(2150), anything near 4400 it would start to artifact but do these cards really o/c that much, i'm unfamiliar with the architecture and I haven't researched other peoples o/c, so is pushing these limits through the card crippling, even though it's able to it ?
As i want to settle for 1500 core and 2000 mem or if the design allows it, I might get closer to the max for my gaming build but I would also like to hold on to this card for at least another year or 2. smile.gif

Those clocks sound reasonable. I managed to get 1430 on core and 3744 on Memory using an ACX 2.0 version.

After looking around the clocks seem pretty good yeah, I was more impressed with the temp difference, that's a 62ish% drop in temps, overclocked thumb.gif

Don't use furmark if you want to keep your card alive. It's been known to kill cards. Use something like heaven/valley for stress testing GPU's.
