PC3-12800 2x4GB kit with PC3-14900 2x4GB Kit?

I currently have a 2x4GB Crucial Ballistix Elite BLE4G3D1608DE1TX0 kit which is PC3-12800, if I added a 2x4GB Crucial Ballistix Elite BLE4G3D1869DE1TX0CEU PC3-14900 kit a bad idea? They are esentially the same ram but maybe they run on different timings? They have different cache and well the speed isn't the thing I'm looking for, it's just the newer PS3-14900 kit is a lot easier to come by.

Basically can I have a kit of 12800 and 14900 that work perfectly fine together or should I just get another 12800 kit, so the exact same memory? I know mixing kits is always a bad idea but that's not what I'm doing and I couldn't find an answer to different PC3s.

Thanks in advance smile.gif

Update: Thinking about just replacing my Ballistix Elite ram with this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00EUPV2RQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE It's faster and my theme is black and red, but they both use XMP profiles, think they could work together? I'm more than happy going from 8GBs to 16, which was the original upgrade but if I can get away with 24GBs then hey! But yeah guess I will just have a look if they clash badly or if they work well together smile.gif
