I did, in fact, own Fermi. Three, actually. Two 550tis and a 580 for a short time. Delicious watercooled 580.....
Was given an offer for the 580 I couldnt turn down, and promptly upgraded to kepler, which I've had ever since.

I had a 980 that had two different bios. Thank God it didn't say Uber mode. I would never buy a gpu from a company that made up stupid #%^t like that. You guys should spend more time in the nvidia sub-section.

Oh look it's 588 pages long.

Not sure why you quoted me. I said nothing about BIOSes. Afterburner let me overvolt my 460.

thats what you get when manufacturers start pushing the stock clock speed up.
same goes with intel really, how many percentage of OC do you get from a 4.0Ghz base clock? 20% would already put you at 4.8Ghz.

r u serio?
you should try 7600gt when they launched it took a lot of tweaking for best scores since it was fairly easy vmods, dont forget 6800/u/gt for gpu and ram clocks cold bios since when -0c they think they are hot for some reason I forget so no its been forever we have been screwing around with bios

Actually the VBIOS is locked. Kepler and Maxwell got BIOS mods because someone hacked the firmware tools to make them work with unsigned/edited firmware. Do you not remember the fact that initially there was a hard limit on voltage in MSI AB when the 680 launched?

The drivers themselves also have voltage locks. The GTX 750 Ti is an example of this. You can not set its voltage above ~1.2v even with BIOS mods. The driver just steps it back down to 1.2v.
