GTX 970m Terrible performance in Wolfenstein New Order

I recently bought the 2016 Razer Blade 14, it has an i7 6700hq and a GTX 970m 6GB. So far i have tested a range of games: Metro Last Light Redux, Black Ops 3, Crysis...to name a few and I have been able to get 45+ FPS consistently throughout at 1080p with all or most settings maxed out. I just started playing Wolfenstein: New Order and I've needed to drop down to 720p and medium settings to get frame rates consistently around the 60fps mark. It''s quite frustrating that I can't play a 2 year old game at 1080p even with medium settings without getting frame rate drops, on a computer that is brand new and is supposed to be able to handle AAA games at 1080P. The computer seems to struggle with Wolfenstein in particular. Has anyone else here had similar performance issues with Wolfenstein? Are my expectations for this GPU too high? I have the computer on a stand with unobstructed fans, and temps never get too high, so i dont think thermal throttling is an issue. There are many advanced graphics settings for Wolfenstein in the options menu that I am unfamiliar with. Does anyone have any suggestions for tweaks I could make to have it run smoother?

Can you confirm the GPU isnt throttling?
