Have fun picking a job class with an extremely limited license grid that can't be changed for the entire game, and if you pick the wrong jobs then 90% of the gear is unusable.
Meanwhile I'll skip this and play games by good JRPG developers, like Level 5, imageepoch, Monolith Soft, Idea Factory, Gust, Sting and so on (because they aren't afraid to make classic style RPGs with turn-based systems.)
The last FF that was any good was IX.
In the original most weapons and armor are useless. Everyone had everything and there was no reason to bother with anything other than swords and heavy armor. IZJS completely changes that. It forces you to use other stuff and make that stuff useful. Actually dedicating one or two chars for mages now make sense.
Sure, there's the potential to ruin things, such is the case with every game with jobs system, and that's how it was since FF I. As long as you play safe and at least choose one Warrior, a White Mage and a Black Mage, you're covered throughout most of the game.
