Thermal pad conductivity for VRAM/other chips on graphics card (Radeon HD 5850)

I have absolutely no idea what kind of thermal conductivity I should be looking for - I've seen anything from 1.2W/mK ($0.99 free shipping ebay tier) to 17W/mK (over $100 per sheet, no way I'm buying them). 5W/mK pads I seem to be very reasonably priced, should these be enough for cooling any (non-GPU) chips on a graphics card? I need replacements for some small nondescript chips that were covered with thermal tape, and I'm possibly VRAM if necessary (the existing pads look pretty good but I have no idea what their specced conductivity is).

This is continuation of this. I have no idea what the chips that had thermal tape are and how much heat they put out... there's 3 5mm x 3mm and 2 2mm x 2mm chips, all of which were covered by one strip of thermal tape, and they're quite low profile and very shiny.

go 5w/mK or greater. I know fujipoly has ones that are like 11-14-17 w/mK and those I've heard work extremely well. I'd say if you want something near the best get 11w/mK minimum

The chips that had the thermal pads on them were either mosfets or RAM.

MOSFETs are what are used to power the GPU core as well as the memory; they generate the most heat relative to anything else, save for the core. Memory will generate the least heat.

What you could potentially do is get nice thermal pads (I can personally vouch for the fujipoly ones, you can get some on amazon) and use those specifically for the fets, and get some lower quality ones for the memory.

Yea, I found an annotated picture of the board and the chips I was referring to were indeed MOSFETs (I do recognize VRAM chips but the pads for those are in pretty good condition). I ended up ordering some 11W/mK alphacool pads from ebay.
