Windows 7 installed an update and now wont load, "Bootmgr not found"

windows 7 installed some updates on my PC, reset, loaded the windows 'updates installing' screen, reset again, and now im getting "BootMGR Not Found" error. when i load up the BIOS UEFI, it recognises that there is the bootmgr on my SSD.

is this just a weird SSD problem? is there a way to restore windows without having to do a full reinstallation?

The BCD needs rebuilding.

Boot from a Windows 7 installation DVD or USB then navigate to Repair your computer. Then launch the Command Prompt from the System Recovery options section.

Type Bootrec /Rebuild Bcd

This should fix the issue, if not report back!

I just ran in to this as well. Go into the BIOS and disable Secure Boot and it should boot fine.
