Let's Compile all 3360/3366 and their release dates for everyone - Page 21

Just a worst case of what can happen with a sleeved cable rubbing around the edge of your table:

Happened twice to my on the badly braided G500 and to a friend of mine owning this one, as well.

So instead of wasiting time for finding a less awful material, just leave it out and put more effort into a sophisticated design (e.g. the right angle for the mold!).

If people think that braidings have any profound advantage beside a fancy look you have to convince them by counter-marketing.

Just my 2 cents...

the fraying was so bad on the G303.. and the DA 3.5g cable is like sandpaper on my cloth mousepads. in fact, it's also terrible on my hard pads.
i think the problem is that a lot of people see braiding as fancy, like it's a sign of higher build quality and of cable strength. i assume this is why companies add braided cables, rather than actually good cables.

and what Strangelove showed is what had happened with the G9x i bought. i assume the G500 uses the same braiding/cable.
so i de-braided that cable, but it's still bad. really stiff.

i'm still totally a fan of the cables that razer used to use, though i haven't yet used a paracord one like ceesa makes

Me too. I used the hell out of my DA 3G and that thin flexible cable never failed on me.

Speaking of that cable.....Anyone know if I can dig it up and plug that cable into my G303 Hand Cancer Edition without changing the pins?

G303 is possibly another bad example because of the braidings soft material, thickness and overall weight.

Currently I am still using my old Naos as a temporary arrangement.
Its cable is much thinner but the texture is still quite rough and scratchy.

Of course, buying a bungee would be a solution here. But that does add further costs for the consumer, just to compensate a nasty "feature" that simply could have been left out. jealoussmiley.gif
Apart from this, bungees have such a redundant appeal on your desk. First world problems, I guess biggrin.gif

Now lemme ask you cause i don't recall your previous posts about this, why do you NOT use it wireless? With how it compares to wired mice currently, why not take advantage of the free feeling of the high performing wireless function?

I only use it wireless on my laptop, since space is a premium and the cord gets in the way. On my desktop it doesn't really matter, but it's usually wired.
The G900 is worth the price just for the shape, weight and button design alone. Anyone who has used a G502 knows what I'm talking about.

You think I'm crazy, right? (most people do).

Hold a G502 normal use wise on the pad, then tilt it to the right.
Now do the same with a G900.

Then you'll understand.

Using the Mionix Alioth which has stitched edges. Can't even consider braided as an option due to the drag not only on the surface, but also on the slightly raised stitched edges. I'd imagine this problem exists with all pads that have stitched edges.

Oh the memories *shivers*. All 3 of my G500 had that issue in multiple places.

Even if successful, I can't see them having all those features in a lightweight design.

It does have an OLED, maybe show Steel Series how its really done.
