You notice how much better the majority of GE titles run for AMD and NV and NV didn't even have to get involved besides the TR 2013 that was fixed very quick because NV were given the source to TressFX.

I liked far cry 3. However far cry 4,I refused to buy because of "gameworks", along with all the issues the game had at launch. If a game doesn't have crossfire or sli support on day one, I don't expect it to gain those features down the road.

I don't see what the fad is over "new games" there are thousands of games I can play games that are better and cheaper than the new AAA titles coming out. All I have to do is wait a year and all those games are in the discount bin. Not only that, but whatever issues those games may have had at launch have usually been ironed out by then.

crossfire/sli support is the last thing to worry about, simply because so few people have these sort of setups, and they can always run on a single card.

Yeah and since you brought up TR.

TR 2013, Runs amazing on both AMD and Nvidia. Perfect scaling even with 4 cards both in CF and SLI
TR 2016 complete opposite. Nvidia runs better, CFX broken. DX12 broken.

I'd agree but there are games out there that work absolutely fine on both hardware without gameworks. BO3, Modor, Division & primal...just to name a few. On the other hand, there are many games with gameworks that worsen performance by quite a bit especially on AMD hardware. Take a look at their DX12 backed titles, there's none that bring anything new to the table in terms of framerates or latency but only worsen them.

So yes, resources of the developer will certainly limit how much AMD can do. The reason most developers use gameworks is to save cost, so most developers aren't going to be interested in doing more work, even if AMD offered to help.

Not painting AMD as a saint of a company. They certainly have their issues especially with CFX, but to their credit, they came out a while back stating the issues they were having getting it to work with certain game engines.

End of the day, we buy video cards to play games (most of us anyway). As a video card manufacturer, it is their shared responsibility to ensure their products work in games. If they offer a product that doesn't work in games, they either need to fix it or deal with people no longer buying said product (this goes for the game dev as well). I don't own AMD stock, and don't work for AMD, so I don't care about the reasons or excuses.

And to say AMD CFX support is the last thing to worry about, you might want to tell AMD, since that is exactly how they are trying to sell their latest product.

I love how everyone on the net knows so much about gpu companies and can just blame them for everything, its too funny to me lol.

Heres a rough example why people who thing so are so wrong and no offense have no brain.

Take for example the Toyota/Subaru FT86, pretend toyota is AMD and Subaru is Nvidia. Theyre both IDENTICAL cars made in the same place by the same people (not saying amd and nvidia are identical but the dev IS) Now lets say all of a sudden Subaru uses a completely different engine tune for their turbo based on the turbo manufacturer who worked directly with Subaru and decided not until 6months after release to work directly with AMD as well. Now you have a car that should be identical to the other performing better then the other. And Toyota can't make up for it as they have direct contact with the turbo manufacturer.

Case in point, what happened when Gears of War first came out with gw, all the stuff could be turned off but physx COULD NOT even through the .ini file. And since you guys are super smart physx is an nvidia technology.

My first statement holds true, nvidia KNOWS that amd hardware is awful at tesselation, i repeat HARDWARE. No amount of drivers and time can fix a hardware issue. What do you think the problem with project cars was in the first place. That wasnt even a gameworks title just a heavaly tesselationed title.

In the end say what you want but there is only so much a company can do when the issue isn't fixable in the first place. Im not defending either company or blaming either company, the issue is straight down to the developer, hence the title DEVELOPER. And yes its true drivers will help a game run better, theres no reason a game any game should be dependent on a driver for running how should it be running in the first place.

Best example is the shadows in GTA V, nvidia AND amd and game runs flawless.

Hey car tech for 10years kinda sticks with you.

Its super annoying how theres always a blame to either amd or nvidia but no one ever blames the devs which pretty much make the game run obviously. How come even 5-6years there was no such issue, games ran GREAT on both platforms. What the hell happened?

So you are saying AMD puts as much effort at working with developers as Nvidia? AMD has been better with game ready drivers this year, but the last couple was horrendous. AND...if they are hanging their hat on CFX for the RX480 to be competitive, that has been downright awful. If I am in the market for a car, I don't care who they outsource the turbo to, to be honest. I will go with the company whose car works.

Keep in mind I will go nvidia this time, get angry with them for the same crap, and be back with AMD the time after. they all make me angry.
