Help please! Is this acceptable backlight bleedi for Acer xb271hu?

Hello,

I bought Acer xb271hu for 800 dollars today and it is really nice looking monitor, but I noticed that it might have some backlight bleeding, I am really not that good at comparing gaming monitors (I was using 32 inch tv for gaming for 6 years).

Please, is this acceptable level of backlight bleeding (Brightness around 65) or I should return this unit, get replacement or maybe try Asus TN version (144hz/1440p). Would TN version be really that worse picture for me, gamer who play mmorpgs, dota, later battlefield 1?

Thank you for your help!

All I wanted is upgrade from 32 1080p TV to nice 27 1440p monitor to pair it with my new Nvidia 1080 frown.gif

BLB is totally subjective to the owners eye. You may think meh and I may think yuk .... or vise versa. Options via a digital image are even more subjective. It's like asking is it too hot today or am I using the right oil in my vehicle.
Your money your choice. thumb.gif

Yes, I see the lower right as the bad ...... would I notice it in my use? Maybe, maybe not enough or none to whine. Do you? Use it like you would normally without "looking for it" and decide. It's really that simple or difficult regardless of what ANY "expert" will say. wink.gif

I CAN notice but, but not dramatically, thing is I pumped all my savings into this + 1080 preorder and that is why I am thinking about returning it, this was ment to be my dream monitor for another 3-5 years .. Didn't think it could have even a slight defect, so I need some advice from someone with better knowledge, return it, try other unit or another monitor?

I am thinking about just buying Dell S2716DG and compare them side by side and decide .. dunno, do TN panels suffer these issues?

Personally I'd return it, but like ssiperko said, only return it if it's a big problem for YOUR eyes.

My sincere recommendation is this.

Use it it with NO reservations of preconceived (may be to late but try) thought as to what you've read. Play with it in what ever manner you normally do regularly. If it looks great it is, if not it's not. It really is that simple. wink.gif

For me its average, still acceptable but i ve got better with my 3 samples, 2 XB271HU and 1 ROG PG279Q, my second XB271HU was almost perfect but had dust/dead pixel
My current and latest screen monitor, PG279Q has minor bleed
I think you may return it, there are better unit
