I am still trying to find the best possible way to mount the reservoir-pump combo in my small case. It has a horizontal MB layout. I basically have three options (I know of):

1) I can install the pump-res horizontally on top right below the top panel (see pictures 1 & 2). I am a little bit worried since that would be right above the 24 pin ATX connector and maybe even slightly above the RAM slots.

2) Alternatively, I can place it horizontally at the bottom of the case. Conntecting it to the ports of the two Hardware Labs GTS 280 Xflows will be a bit tricky (picture 3).

3). Ditch the pump-res combo and install a bay reservoir with pump at the bottom.

I am using 2 Hardware Labs GTS 280 Xflows next to each other in the front of the case.

Quick advice is much appreciated since I only have this day left to send it back. Thanks!

Hard to tell if the res will interfere with the 24pin / Ram.
Is the plate we see on pics 1 and 2 where the mobo will be attached?
If so it looks like there is plenty of space under your hand (on the pic) and thus sounds like the best option if you say n° 2) will no be easy.

Try to stick with a pump-res combo as it is a plus in a small case. It saves room compared to a separated res that will add fittings and tubing to your loop.

yes- this is going to be the mobo tray.

There is enough space for the pump-res, but I am a bt worried since it could cause quite some damage if a leak happens at that point. you know, it is my first custom loop.

What do you think of a 2bay reservoir on the bottom?

Sounds good if you have room for that!
Will indeed be safer if there is a leak with that component.

I don't think that res is meant to go horizontal I'm sure it would leak, and I wouldn't do a bay res either. Have you checked out the MMRS from Monsoon? It can definitely go horizontal with no problems.

Hmm..no I am not sure at all. Since it is my first custom loop, I have no experiences at reservoir placement and such.

In the installation guide is says "...You can rotate the pump and use it in any direction except upside-down to best suit your
installation."

https://www.ekwb.com/shop/EK-IM/EK-IM-3831109843079.pdf

Still, not sure about it either.

The pump can go horizontal no problem, but I'm thinking that particular res might leak especially from the top. you can test it by filling it up and turning it horizontal and upside down to see if it will.

Since it is the last day for a viable return, I decided to requestamy money back. I don't want to end up having to sell it later on at a loss. Until then, I will do some more research on reservoirs that work horizontally for sure.

I also sent an email to EKWB asking about the reservoir orientation - let's see what they say.

Regarding the mentioned Monsoon MMRS - does anyone know here I can find them in Europe? Google didn't find any in Gemany.
