I can sympathize with ILeakStuff on mostly focusing on AMD.
AMD hasn't released anything substantial(non-apu) in almost 7 years.
Intel alone in the past 12 months have had 3 major releases on the enthusiast side.

>inb4 5-10% at best from intel hur dur
Intel has improved many facets of their architecture along with a little bit of performance boost causing great upgrade cycles around every 3-4 years getting the new technology and about 25-30%+ increase in performance.
All the while having no competition.
And for those that don't just game those changes are huge.
New AES instruction, encoding instructions, ect.
Major releases?

It's been pretty lame since Sandy sure they have improved but the dperformance/dt was terrible.

AMD still has to somewhat catch up at lower price to even be worth looking at though.

New architect, ddr4, nvm, m.2, soon to be hex channel, there is so much that has been added.
Not including the Xeon line. Which changed damn near everything with how powerful they are.

As soon as Core i7 920 hit its where AMD lost. PII X4 or X6 just cant even come close to Core i7 920.

IN 2012/2013 Piledriver happened, ya bulldozer was a flop.

Piledriver however is still quite viable. it isn't the fastest thing, but its soild performance. and once you overclock it past 4.8 its more than enough for most.

geee i wish people would stop blaming user error and or bad purchasing decisions, on a CPU that has aged rather well.

depends on which mobile we're talking about, in particular the smartphone market is a multi-billion dollar market, just take 1% of that cake and you'd make a couple of billion dollars.

Unrealistic. Billion dollar market minus fee, taxes, whatever else.

I do concede that I'm unfamiliar with the the production costs and bottom line costs.
