assuming they'd price their CPUs at mainstream price ($300 6C/12T and $200 4C/8T) then thats quite worth the wait.

furthermore, AMD had been generous with their overclockability, thus a $100 2C/4T would be well worth it.

Don`t get your hopes up that AMD will remain the charity company so many people here think they are if AMD get performance atleast close to Intel.
But $300-$350 for 6C could absolutely happen. Pretty boring to wait over half a year just to save 100 bucks imo tongue.gif

lol they're sounding in the article like it's some official news. They probably saw the data server roadmap was zen for 2017 and thought there's a delay. Tech journalism is pathetic these days.
Also literally a week ago Lisa Su said it's still released in 2016. Pretty sure if they were expecting delays they wouldn't have stated a 2016 date at computex.

who says it should be charity? their $200 RX480 tells a lot about their plans.

When was last time AMD cpu was priced decently on launch ?

Somewhere in socket 939 era probably.

Phenom II X6 costed as much as i7 920 because it matched it in few specific use cases.

First Bulldozers had price parity with i5 2500k

So AMD says Zen is on track at computex due to be released with 7th gen APU.

Someone releases an article without a source saying chips from both teams are delayed.

All doom and gloom cause AMD.

Only a few people pick up that it is an outsourced article. Everyone believes an Un-sourced article and everyone just ignores the fact that but a few days ago Zen was on course? Who would you actually rather believe?

Wanna buy some MILK!?!?!

If money is even a slight concern, and you already have sandy or newer, why not wait till the dust settles? Buying skylake right now would be a bit frivolous. If youre without, sure, you should buy skylake and know youre all set for quite a while. Kaby lake isnt interesting at all, so if youre looking at possibly upgrading, waiting for zen, to at lease see what it brings to the table or if it makes intel change their tune with minor incremental upgrades at an increasing premium is the only thing that really makes sense imo as its the only thing particularly interesting on the horizon

Zen has always been slated to appear during Q4 '16. First the Desktop enthusiast chip with server, OEM and APU units arriving in 2017. So digitimes "platform" gossip may 1. refer to one of the above that have always been 2017 products 2. Be totally ex culo 3. Actually be true. We'll see. Personally I have scheduled my platform upgrade for late November and it will be between BW-E and Zen. I don't mind waiting 1-2 months.
