if you were buying one of these two monitors right now (or within 1-1.5 months) - which one would you choose ?

reasons ?

Im very interested in OC.net opinions

I know there are a few more options on the horizon such as AOC and (maybe) Viewsonic, but Im interested in specifically these two models atm

At the beginning, i ve bought Acer XB271HU because of OCN, there are many feedbacks that strongly advice Acer control quality is much better than Asus
Then i sold mine to pick another XB271HU wich was a disaster with dead pixel and stuck hair in the screen...
I have good luck i guess when i picked the ROG unit, it was a returned screen monitor without any visible flaw, BLB is good, no dead pixels, no dust or whatsoever...
I got 20% discount and with DOOM key as gift, it only cost me around 600 eur which is extremely good price for an IPS, 165 hz, G-Sync, 1440p monitor
The things is now i dont think so Acer is much better than Asus, both sucks, still a lottery game imo
Now ROG has much better design/OSD ergonogmic and i find image more balanced without making much effort to find good settings

Now i am turning into ROG fanboy biggrin.giftongue.gif

Voted XB271HU. Every Asus I tried (three of them at home and 1 in store) had either dead pixels, stuck pixels, cluster of bright white pixels, terrible BLB, or a white uniformity variance from top to bottom of screen of over 700K. I've also gone through many samples of the Acer and it too has its fair share of defects same as the Asus. I've fared better overall with the Acer and most of the time my samples had better uniformity vs. the Asus. Neither one is a home run, you need luck on your side with both monitors.

Definitely the XB271HU. In the end, what matters most is the image quality, on which the Acer wins in general. Less backlight bleed and better uniformity. You can replace the original stand with the AG Neovo ES-02, it will give you the feeling of owning a PG279Q with XB271HU panel quality. biggrin.gif
