for sure its not David Sariffs ending as augmentation has gone downhill. It cant be darrows as I dont think augmentation is banned, just shunned by society. The Neuroposine contamination is possible, but nothing is out that convices audience to say that it happened.

Slightly OT:

Why is it that the original HR runs far better than the Directors Cut at the same settings? I was playing around with them last night with ReShade and the OG version looks (i think, maybe?) and performance far better. The DC ver doesn't even have tessellation and also stutters terribly despite running at 60fps.

Looking forward to this as long as it hasnt been destroyed by micro transactions.

Edit: Wait, DC does have Tess. Im pretty sure when i first played it tess wasnt in there. Huh. Also, solved the stuttering of DC by playing at 75Hz rather than 60. Seems 60Hz has an issue (tripple buffering?).

Directors cut also cut out sli iirc

Which was odd because I never had any issues back in the day with OG version and the 460 2win

basically what happened was this

Original game made on consoles > console port to PC > does many bug patches to fix the game.

later a Directors cut version was released, instead of just tweaking the original pc release, Eidos decided to console port again, so every bit of work that was fixed or patched into the original release doesnt exist in the DC release anymore.

Graphics is definitely not a huge upgrade from HR. Kinda disappointed especially we are on new console era nowadays.

Youtube has notoriously bad detail loss in compression so I expect the game to look much crisper than it does in this video, however, you can see some clearly pixelated textures on closeup sections that are just completely unacceptable in my mind. This was probably on PS4 though and it was all one continuous section (albeit not a big one, but still continuous) and the gameplay looks cool and non-linear (within bounds) so I'm inclined to be excited for this game.

When have current gen consoles indicated anything but subpar visuals? We're just barely hitting the visual fidelity of tech demos from the early 2000's. This game is actually far less visually stunning than what nVidia and AMD were putting out in there GPU tech demos over a decade ago. This should have been in games much earlier but lackluster consoles have all but snubbed out progress in visual fidelity (save for a few studios putting out mildly more detailed media).

I fail to see the "bad graphics". There's some aliasing issues, and animation and character detail isn't as good as some of the best stuff we've seen lately, but it's not bad by any means. It looks plenty good to me, and it looks like a solid DX12 title with no big deficiencies in terms of techniques used. Perhaps people mistake the bleak art direction of the area for graphics? Besides, this is PS4 footage as you can see from the controller prompts. The game is certainly leaps and bounds ahead of any previous gen title, and a massive jump over Human Revolution, which used an ancient TR engine and had a lot of problems with big areas.

What's up with that big boulder in-between buildings. I guess someone isn't used to this universe's laws.

Graphics aren't great, but it's passable. PC version will be probably better. But that tree animation is pretty bad.

how is Sarif alive if Adam blew up the arctic installation?

I thought opt 4 was the cannon ending but now.. i've got no clue.
