EK releases new XTOP SPC liquid cooling pump!

EK Water Blocks, Slovenia based premium liquid cooling gear manufacturer, is adding a standalone pump to the EK-SPC Series lineup of value-oriented products. Recently debuted with Slim Series kits, and as a pump reservoir combo, we are now releasing EK-XTOP SPC-60 PWM, that is even more compact than DDC pump!

EK-XTOP SPC-60 PWM is a standalone value oriented liquid cooling pump. It has been designed to lower the production costs yet still offer great hydraulic performance at the best price.

Perfect for mini ITX builds!

The core of the unit is EK-SPC 60 water pump that uses only a 4-pin PWM FAN header for operation; no MOLEX connector is required! PWM control will allow you to set automatic pump speed regulation depending on your CPU temperature. Full performance on demand or whisper quiet operation in idle mode! With the maximum pressure head at 3.2m (10,5 ft), maximum flow at 450 L/h and a very compact form ((W x D x H): 62 x 62 x 51 mm), we recommend this pump for smaller builds, particularly if you are assembling your custom loop in a mini ITX case.

The pump features two G1/4 threaded ports of which one is an inlet on top and one is an outlet on the side of the unit. The top is made of quality Plexi material or POM Acetal (depending on the variant) and the bottom features vibration-dampening rubber mounting system which effectively de-couples the water pump from the rest of the computer chassis.

The pump uses only one 4-pin PWM FAN header for operation; no MOLEX connector is required!

Availability and pricing

EK-XTOP SPC-60 PWM (incl. pump) will be available for purchase through EK Webshop and Partner Reseller Network on Monday, June 13th, 2016!. Below you can find MSR prices with VAT included.

  • EK-XTOP SPC-60 PWM – Plexi (incl. pump) 65.95€
  • EK-XTOP SPC-60 PWM – Acetal (incl. pump) 65.95€

This is my favorite ~ 60x60mm form factor pump. Granted it is low power, but outperforms Xylem DDC 3.1 MX 6W found in Predator and EK-KIT L!

Even at 70% duty cycle it's on par with Xylem DDC 3.1 MX 6W running at 100%

It's also a little bit quieter than the Xylem thumb.gif

This sounds good for the price, should be noticeably better than the Topsflo TDC and the XSPC X2O 420 I was checking recently based on the specs.

Yeah I saw it go up, and managed to do a sneak edit tongue.gif

Edit: $75 for USA? That doesn't seem right when euro price inc. VAT is 66 euros

Double edit: NVM, it's the same ratio of USD to Euro as the rest of the products.

Nice one!

Same mounting holes as the DDC too so no new brackets needed.

I'm considering this pump for my new build. A couple of questions:

1. Can the feet be completely removed, and if so what is the height without them?
2. Does this pump build heat on the bottom and need a heatsink such as the DDC, and is there a heatsink available? (I am considering removing the feet and attaching it with double sided tape to the bottom).
3. Are there any 3rd party reviews on this pump as of yet, and if so links? (I can't seem to find any via google-mania).
4. Does this pump need the PWM signal to turn on or can I bypass the signal and run it at full speed on a 3 pin connector?

1) I want to know that myself, I could only remove the vibration dampening screws myself.

2) No need for a heatsink. This draws less than 6W max, and PWM control means less waste of energy provided as heat.

3) Working on mine.

4) Yes, without PWM signal this runs at full speed.

I told you, chisel and hammer wink.gifwink.gif
Thought, if it's that hard to dismantle, maybe it's not intended to, so what does that mean for options with an attached reservoir?

Never mind, EK support and some closer examination led to me be able to remove those screws as well. Takes a Torx T8 bit, those DDC screws have a Torx threading further inside past the more standard threading that the vibration dampeners thread into. Having said that, these screws hold the pump together so customers should not really be taking it apart anyway, and the vibration dampening screws can be removed if need be. If one does not wish to drill, then a UNI mount makes sense or else just cutting down the DDC screws till they are in-line with the pump bottom and using double sided tape.
