Vardar and FanExpert 3

This isn't a fan problem really, but fan related so I'm hoping that other Vardar fan owners might have some insight.

I have an Asus Maximus VIII Hero motherboard, latest bios and software, Win 10 Pro (x64).
When I run the FanXpert software to generate profiles for the fans (3 sets of 140 F3's (total 6) and 2 120 F4's) it creates very block and useless fan profiles, stating that the fans can only be controlled from 63%+ (Except one of the 120mm fans that it for some reason says is controllable from 0%+).
I'm not sure I remember 100% correctly, but I think the first profile I made had good values, but after having some pump issues (no PWM control whatsoever) and fiddling around some of the fans gave that bad profile, now they all do (except the odd 120 with 0%).

Using SpeedFan I can control the fans just fine from 25%+ (lower than 25% they still spin but report 0 rpm), but speed fan can't detect the thermal sensor or the water pump header.

Anyone have an idea what might be going on here?

I think this will be best addressed by ASUS Support. However mixing PWM and DC controlled motors might be problematic with this BIOS. I would suggest trying out PWM pump and setting the mode to PWM on all headers just to make sure.

Let me see if @Raja@ASUS or @Praz might have more insight.

I think you misread, I HAVE all PWM fans (8 Vardar fans) and a PWM pump (EK DDC), the ports ARE set to PWM in bios but it seems like the Asus software switches the control mode to DC on startup and the profiler says the Vardar fans are only controllable 63-100%
Anyway, I've circumnavigated this problem now, if not solved it, and have rearranged how I connected up things and now control everything via SpeedFan (Had to rearrange as SpeedFan can't see or control the water_pump header). With SpeedFan I can easily control both pumps and fans in the 25-100% range.
I'm not sure what the issue is, but as I stated in my OP I DON'T think it's the Vardar fans or EK pumps fault, but rather an Asus software problem, I just asked here as others here might have had similar similar issues with similar builds.
Now if there only was something like, let's say, a Signalkuppe product out there, then I wouldn't have to worry about this at all wink.gif
