Request for Xeon modded Award bios for Gigabyte ga-73pvm-s2h

Hello,

I've successfully flashed a modded bis for my Asus board for Xeon support, but now I have another problem. I also have a GA-73PVM-S2H (rev. 1.0) mobo which needs the same treatment to get E5440 support. Now I have no idea how to do this so though I'd ask if someone was able to do it for me maybe?

The machine in question doesn't have an OS at the moment - I was waiting to get the bios sorted before getting that far, so I can't mess with it from the computer itself - even if I knew what I was doing..

A while back in post #4731 a user named w00tmkay posted an in-windows screenshot of the results of a modded bios. I have PM'd but i'm not sure if they're still active as it was their last post back in 9/8/14.

I have looked online and found a couple of sites (http://tanieprocesory.pl/en/bios2-2/) which reported having a modded bios for this board - it seems it was the same file (down to last modified time) hosted on both sites. I have tried it and got a message from q-flash saying.. something about it not being right - I can't remember off hand. Not corrupt, just not viable.

So would someone be able to rejigger this bios for me with Xeon E5440 support please? Pleeeeeaaaaaase?!

Thanks! smile.gif

Hi buddy,

I found this modded bios online and it should work nicely.
I'm trying to buy a 40W xeon L5408 SLBBT stepping for a cheap price.
Here you are:

Have fun with your xeon! thumb.gif

Although very kindly contacted with a bios I still get the same message - the pic is from a projector which is why it looks weird.. Thanks johnbb, but still just as stuck i'm afraid!

I think it is normal that you have an ID mismatch as it's not an official BIOS.
Can you force the bios flash anyway?
Maybe not with gigabyte QFlash but with a DOS command prompt it should be working.

I'll find a way! Thanks for the suggestion on DOS!

Oh dear.

It seems i've been a total plonker. The reason it hasn't been updating is because it's a GA-73PVM-S2 not a GA-73PVM-S2H...

Sorry for the wild goose chase - modded bios on and working as far as I can tell!
