[Eurogamer]The Division now permanently bans cheaters on first offence - Page 6

Best news ever. All game companies should ban all cheaters & hackers. Let them learn their place in the world, when they are buying the same game multiple ways just to fit in.

They cheat because the game offers too much challenge for them. Soon cheaters
& hackers will be developers biggest revenue when they are buying multiple copies of each game.

Banning forever on first offense should be done with ALL MP games now a days. I love to read the whining and crying trying to play victim when they get the ax. They don't even deserve to be put in their own pool and play among themselves. Which some devs. have done.

I like how Blizzard is handling it. Those caught cheating can't even get another account or copy of the game lol. I was reading how a few cheaters decided to try playing straight and Blizzard banned them again lmao

The way Blizzard is doing it, assuming the cheaters used a different battle.net account after cheating is illegal. If they re-purchased under the same battle.net account then it's not illegal.

Well I support them regardless. Wanna cheat online to ruin the game for others? You don't deserve to ever play a game online again.

Every game should be like Overwatch and Blizzard way of banning people in Overwatch at least. If what I have heard and read is true then cheaters should be banned to a level that no matter how many accounts you make it picks up and bans you again.

Anyways I don't play Division or Overwatch but games like Battlefield which I play and plan to play BF1 extensively and other FPS games are loaded with folks cheating. I really don't see why people cheat. I just can't see the fun in it.

It took Blizzard ten years to ban cheaters. i saw the same exact bots in Wow for 6 years straight, and they would allow hackers who cheated in pvp to just re-buy the game and do it again, some they would just suspend for a few days on end. They're only doing it in overwatch because there's no subscription money and they're trying to find a breakout e-sports hit after failing with WoW for so long.

It's not that Blizzard allows bots on purpose. The bots for WoW were really sophisticated. They're able to grind xp, mats, honor, and even turn in quests. The bots were designed to bypass and hide from Blizzard's Warden process checks.

However, there was one time I fired up an outdated version of a bot on accident and within an hour, one my accounts was zapped by blizzard. That was during BC. They're relentless when they detect you cheating. It's always a cat and mouse game with these things.

On principal I don't support their method of perma banning. I support perma banning based on the battle.net account, or as perma banning per Ubisoft account.

But if, say, a hacker were to make a new Ubisoft account and re-purchase the game under that account, they shouldn't be allowed to ban that new account without an infringement of some sort.

I think this way because it sets a very dangerous precedent - and video games aren't worth that.

LOL^

As a matter of principal you only support them getting caught once..?  If the person cheats, they are done. Who cares what account they are on..?  Nobody wants them to be able to create a second account. Take your punishment and move on to the next game...

Where you'll have to decide to try and cheat, or go legit.

How in the heck are companies going to be able to tell if a banned person/account is the same human with a different account? I guess there is a way to find out the unique ID code (forgot the name) for an computer and ban that PC and any account it makes. They can't ban IP addresses.
