overclock ur chip or get a 1070 which would probably match ur rig better in terms of overall performance/experience

I don't think that your CPU will bottleneck the card, but i do know for a fact that the PCIe 2.0 that you will be limited to will slow you down slightly. I had a water-cooled 980 classified in my rig when I got my 1080 and couldn't move it from my only pcie 3.0 x16 slot without draining my loop so i plugged the 1080 into an open PCIe 2.0x16 slot and ran some benchmarks. The next day I drained the loop and put the 1080 in place of the 980 and ran the same benchmarks and saw about a 20% increase in scores across the board. I also did the same thing with PCIe 3.0x8 and saw about a 15% increase from pcie 3.0x8 to pcie 3.0x16.

This is the first card I have seen any PCIe bottlenecks with, but they are clearly there.

I am running

you just answered your own question.
For the past 5 years, CPUs usage have pretty much flat lined, any CPU that since i7 920 can handle pretty much anything without causing a bottleneck, because most games now in days are graphics hungry.

The only thing that Can affect bandwidth (bottleneck) are if you are still stuck in a PCIe Generation 1 motherboards

if your motherboard is PCIe Gen2 then you'll not have any issues.

PCIe Gen3 is still the current standard, most motherboards back in PCIe Gen2 were already PCIe Gen3 ready, with a BIOS update.

Depends on what frame rate he's targeting. You still get an fps increase from 5820K to 6700K.
