IIRC he mentioned it reported 4GB until he got the new BIOS and drivers, and then it turned into 8GB and got the proper name.

That difference probably comes from the 1080MHz to 1266MHz clock uplift the BIOS came with.

If they are fake at least they are interesting and if they are true they are around where we'd expect them to be or even a bit over so it is quite plausable in my opinion with updated and tuned up drivers.

Would be pretty amazing if a 199$ 1080mhz RX 480 4GB is faster than a GTX 980. Well atleast for mainstream people looking to upgrade from their GTX 4XX/5XX/6XX or AMD 5XXX/6XXX/7XXX series cards.

Let's hope we don't need to wait too long for something much bigger for the enthusiasts though

I have a hunch that a bomb is going to drop from Polaris 10. AMD is extremely coy and leading us on goose chases.

We might not need to wait for something bigger.

The Chiphell thread got a removal request from AMD.

Now you are overconfident mate.

This card has no chance against the 1070,980 Ti and 1080.
