[chiphell] RX480 in disguise ? (Update) - Page 4

this is the fakest fake ever. the RX 480 will likely come with dual 6-pins for non reference. furthermore, there is no way MSI is making an RX 480 Lightning card lol. even if they did, it wouldn't have the same big cooler that the 780ti and 290X lightning had.

~Some stuff i am not sure about~
1-The PCIE cover color is different.
2-DVI is gold on older lightning.
3-No back plate (Removeable i know).
4-Not sure if the camera angle or me but the height of the cooler looks shorter than other cards.
5-The PCIE connector lock on the right and left side of the PCIE look weird compared to other cards.
6-No other PCB is chipped like that next to the Power pins.

This doesn't fit with any known Lightning. Possibly a prototype?

looks like somebody took the triple slot 290X Lightning, removed the back plate and mid plate, swapped the position of the 6-pin and 8-pin connectors (or good post work) and took a photo of it.

Yeah this is 290X Lightning for sure. The video he posted clearly confirms 4GB, 1080 MHz and the same cooler as 290X Lightning https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/R9-290X-LIGHTNING.html#hero-overview
Why people do this wink.gif
