[PCTuning]Radeon RX 480 on the way to the office! (And we signed no NDA) - Page 5

On the one hand it's interesting for informed people, like mentioned a couple of post above me. On the other hand, the uninformed people will already draw their conclusions based on these benchmarks and will yell that AMD is worse than Nvidia. (If it turns out the RX 480 doesn't have proper drivers yet)

So I'd rather they don't release any benchmarks until we know for sure there are proper RX 480 drivers available. (For the sake of everyone interested in buying these types of GPUs)

I'm with ya on that. The last thing AMD needs is some idiot leaking benches with broken drivers that are not indicative of the actual performance. But we all know that it happens all the time. And then the uninformed take the leak as gospel doh.gif

I don't like the practice and I would never do it, but I'm not mad at those that do.
who cares, I vote with my wallet.

Then you must also be certain AMD made no effort to improve drivers between June 1 and launch date. Does that sound reasonable to you?

AMD will be tweaking the drivers all the way up to launch. No pre-packaged drivers are ever perfect, and in fact, they are usually junk compared to newer ones just a month after launch.

Have you looked at the prices of 390/X and 980 on newegg? they are still like $400 lol
I think this would be the time to lower them before the card that will kill them both comes out so no one buys them then

If they lower the prices AFTER the card comes out whats the point? the RX 480 will win even if they are lower then it is since its better then them (or so we think)

Anyways reading all this stuff about leaked info is fun biggrin.gif

You miss the point: the prepackaged drivers have to be the launch drivers, or at least version of existing drivers with Polaris support. So, the card will work and i dare suggest it will work about as well as review drivers.

Correct, but we won't see many reviews of rx480 a month after rx480 launch smile.gif

You concede my point and make an argument against something we both agree with, and that is AMD has continued to improve driver performance. Your own words are that launch drivers will perform better than review drivers, which is what I said. Why are you making an argument that doesn't exist?
