Help a noob with overclocking. First timer here pretty much

Thread Starter

I sold my 970 because I really did not use the power. Most of the games I play are world of warcraft  My buddy had a EVGA 760 2GB 256 bit card sitting in his closet so he told me to throw him $10 bucks and its mine so I did. So far the card runs every single game I like & play zero problems with 60fps at max settings 1080p.

I do play witcher 3 running medium to high settings result in a 50-53 fps. Yes AA is off and bloom and a couple of demanding settings but the game still runs great. I installed MSI Aferburner and did a small test. power limit is at 110%, core clock +100, memory clock +155. Temps stay at 80c.

Now here is my question what BIOS settings do I need to mess with if any and what program should I use to test my GPU so I get no artifacts. Also what is the MAX temp I should stay at. This is a  black shroud single fan model. As stated im lost on what to do here I dont want to burn this card up.

Stay under 85C for GPU use 24/7 and you'll be fine. Also if you are using an unmodified, stock / factory BIOS the GPU voltage will be limited to 1.21v max for safety reasons. So you won't burn your card that easily unless you use a custom BIOS that unlocks your GPU voltage.

overclocked to +100 core, +155 memory + 112% power results in 85c temps max even with a custom fan profile. when the card is NOT overclocked it still sits at 80c max when playing.
