[My History]
{My First Computer}
My first build was back in High School. An old hand-me-down dell, with my Xbox 360, Plasma screen that survived two lightning strikes and a sound system I was given for free. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

{My Custom built Computer}
AMD Phenom II X4 955
Asrock 970 Extreme 4 Motherboard
4gb DDR3 G.Skill Ram
XFX 6870 GPU
Sentey Optimus Case
Western Digital 1tb Blue
Asus Disc Drive Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

{Somewhat Undocumented progress}
Through the next 3 years or so after that, I began to upgrade my computer, and constantly change what I was even using.
Due to moving to the south, people like to trade rather than just sell what they've got.
I started by trading for my brothers lesser Athlon 640 build, keeping my 6850 and getting some cash.
Two weeks later we found two 550tis for 25$ each as well as an i3-2120 for 30$.
My brother bought and ASUS transformer for school, ended up trading it for a build + ps3
(Build consisted of a 3570k, intel brand motherboard, MSI 640, one ugly Zalman case, 2tb western digital green and an Antec Green PSU)
Another 2 weeks after that we sold the 955 build with 3tb of storage for around 1100$ (it had both 550 ti's, my screen from my very first computer and I have no idea why he offered so much for it)
I then sold my Athlon build with the 6850.
I purchased the 3570k from my brother, stuck the i3 on the motherboard and ended up trading it for an older q6600 computer + cash.
I don't have any pictures of the computer when we go it, but it was bad. Dusty to say the least. This is after I cleaned it up.
Needless to say I basically tore out all of the old fans and replaced them with Cooler Master 120mm Greed LED fans I got from NCIX for 5$ each. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

/URL]

We then traded this computer for a PS3 + Xbox 360 games + Cash
From these previous computers my brother and I were both able to make practically identical computers.
He bought a new 3570k, MSI Z77 Mpower, XFX 7950 and Corsair 600T case.
I bought the use 3570k from him, a use MSI Z77 Mpower, the 7950 from him (so he then bought a XFX 7970) and then I got a Corsair 500r White Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I also attempted some cable sleeving from some free materials I got, not the best...

I removed alot of it and settled on this

I contined to buy and some computers, as well as college text books to buy a few things.
This is when I finally got my 780 lightning and my Corsair 540 air Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

This is the last time I'll ever buy a GPU new, or and 2014 is when Amazon began to charger TN TAX >.< 9.5$% is brutal, lucky I bought the card in 2013
Random cat picture

My brother and I both were somewhat a part of the Mining craze.. with 780's none the less Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

No sure how, but one day we got... well we got ALOT more than we were supposed to. This is how we were able to buy ourselves a 270x Hawk from TigerDirect

{Computers we had but didn't stick around long]
These are computers that we purchased with the intent of using and either sold to friends, didn't use or found someone looking for what we had. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
This is a DDR1 Platform

This was going be a spare PC, I was attempted an Orange and Black Theme

Fellow OCN member that was hard on cash and I bought off CL

Computer we drove 3 hours there and back for, was for 250$, we had a prius and no weekend planned.

Brothers Attempt at an HTPC and ended up selling for a loss

My 500r build and both above Bitfenix Builds
I can 100% say that I've missed builds, upgrades and typos thumb.gif
I know I forgot when I bought my screens, Power supplies and peripherals

After my experiences, I believe it's much more worthwhile to go with used parts.
It both saves money, and you can then share the savings with other people in need.
In the future I'm going to avoid XFX, All 3 of cards we got from them had their fans go out. We had to get fan replacements for the 7950 4 times....

Excluding my initial custom build, my the computers were paid for from previous computers, college text books or energy drinks Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
You'd be surprised at how easily you can sell energy drinks in high-school when you get them on discount...

Currently I'm using a laptop I bought off a fellow OCN member:
7 3610qm
Nvidia Gtx 660m 2gb
8gb of RAM
256 GB Crucial M4 SSD
15 inch 1920x1080 screen
LED Backlit keyboard

Then the desktop is also from an OCN member:
i5-2500k @ 4ghz
Asus Mobo
16gb ram
HP 7570
