Whats a safe oc level for a gtx 960 3gb in a zotac sn970 running windows using msi afterburner. I have the stock cooling and don't want to change voltages. I have msi afterburner installed already. I already posted this but cant find it. Also is it safe to mess with the memory clock? I haven't done anything yet.

Ok. so. 1. you posted this same question in 2 separate forums. only post it once please. makes it much easier and keeps down on clutter for repeated answers. and 2. ehh idk about overclocking it at all honestly. small form factor builds like that normally arent good for overclocking because they both arent built for it and dont have the cooling for it. first test and see what your max temp is on the gpu. if it is low enough 80c or under then you can overclock it a bit. just do 50mhz boosts to the core and then test it. but only do it if the temp is 80c or under. any hotter you will be roasting the absolute hell out of it. hope this helps.

There really is no "unsafe" way to overclock it. Just push it until it is unstable, then bring it back until it is stable. And yes, the memory overclock is what is most likely what is going to increase your FPS the most.

You should still check your temps first but for memory i tend to do 50 or 100mhz increments.
