Would be way too fast after Fallout 4. Fallout 4 is already lukewarm in general but when you would still what it got going for it with a new elder scrolls game it would be honestly a dumb move. Even more so since they are still planning to sell you a lot of DLC.

Agreed that I would have preferred a Morrowind remaster, which has a better story, NPCs, quests, environment, voicework, soundtrack, character development & inventory across the board. But I'll take it. I have 230 active Skyrim mods out of over a thousand, and I hope they've updated to 64-bit. This will put a huge fire under the modding community as well, to port stuff over.

More crashy or less crashy? Now taking bets.

Does Bethesda not have 2 teams (at least) for their games? Seems they would at least have dedicated teams for TES and Fallout at this point.

Anyway, meh on this. It would be nice IF they actually do some engine improvements/upgrades, but if its more like a "patch 1.10 uber edition" then this is not exciting at all.

Very nice that original owners can get it free though if they have all DLC or Legendary edition already. That's a good move thumb.gif

Alright, my anger towards Bethesda for doing a "Money Grab Remaster" has been somewhat abated considering they have decided to "upgrade" all owners of Skyrim + All DLC or Skyrim: Legendary Edition to the new version for free. However, I still find it irritating that Bethesda chose to do a game that is barely 5 years old as their first remaster, instead of a much older (and more deserving) game like Morrowind or Oblivion. I thought the point of "remastering" a game was to bring a much older game (that this generation hasn't played) and bring it into the current age so that new players (and old) could enjoy it all over again. Maybe that is just me though...

I mean freebies are nice and everything but this is pretty pointless for me. I have an ENB config I am happy with. I am using 500+ mods. I saw the video and laughed and immediately knew this was meant to please console gamers.

I know. It was wishful thinking.

I figured TES VI would be 2018ish as much as I hate that.

As for too fast, they seems to have time to do a remaster....redface.gif

In theory texture mods should be compatible with the new version. Scripting mods probably wont be due to the new engine being 64bit - but papyrus was such a massive bottleneck that this is probably a good thing as long as some of the better mods on nexus get converted over. No more Convenient Horses, Warzones, Realistic Needs&Diseases+friends causing lip desynchs and quests to break because they missed their papyrus cycle, etc, etc.

Overall I'm interested to see what this brings 3-6 months after October, when a few mods have been updated to support the remastered version.
You guys forget that Skyrim Remaster can ALSO be modded and I am 100% certain that MANY MANY MANY mods will be ported onto the Remaster version, allowing even better visuals than the ones original Skyrim + mods could provide.

I think they will use their new x64 engine that they used for Fallout 4. My concern is the ENB... Fallout 4 rendering is awful and that made ENB for it very limited, at least for now. To ENB developer, the original Skyrim had better rendering.
Fairly excited about the updates to the engine, as long as there's no compat issues with SKSE, USLEEP fixes, ENB, among others. Also, I'm fairly certain I saw some mod assets being marketed in that video. As for how good it looks, a comparo...

Just some build in-progress shots. Sorry about the local upload, Imgur's screwing up the images for some reason and making them look over-exposed, to just plain white with nothing on them.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Did someone say DoF? Bokeh is better...

Shadows? Relighting Skyrim w/ my tweaked ENB.

That ivy, looks horrid compared to Renthal311's. Not to mention the meshes haven't been updated either from what I can see. Mindflux's high poly fern meshes still reign supreme.

Moar?

No parallax? Parallax! thumb.gif

Natalie Portman? Mmmhmm.

Wet when raining? Check.

^ still need to add in Vivid Weathers, that's just a few of the included assets, & I'm still picking & choosing textures. One by one...

It's for playability, not screen archery. Consisting of mostly 2k textures, with the really big objects being 4k *aside from dragons 4k x 8k* and all small objects being 1k to 512 dependent on the absolute size & minimum viewing distance. I've spent a lot ot time optimizing them by hand, with in-game performance being the paramount requirement. 190 plugins, mostly merged so far, textures & meshes don't count towards the total, unless a master or plugin is needed. Right, almost forgot to mention, all humanoid npc's are replaced as well.

Mods on console, this is what that Bethesda.net they brought out with fallout 4 was all about. In order to bring mods out for the consoles they need a place to put them all both MS and Sony would agree on, it's not like they would've let them all use the nexus for mods.

Interesting but TBH I'm annoyed that, once again, a company is going console-centric for things. FO4 now features more DLC tailored for the consoles than ever before and what's worse is that it's "Included in the season pass" I'm starting to think no PC gamer should bother with season passes anymore. I would've been cheaper to cherry-pick my DLC and avoided the workshop stuff.
