[cooln.kr] Leaked Korean RX480 OC Fire Strike Ultra - Page 13

So we're all in agreement that the RX-480 isn't bad for the largest Polaris11 chip - still smaller than the Polaris10...

Hold on to your little fizziness down in your belly kids.

These babies are built on a brutal CPU rated node.

Hopefully i only need to add another $40 to $50 max. After i get rid of the 970 for the 480 8GB card.

Since when was 480 a polaris 11 chip, when polaris 11 is aimed at the 50 watt market? You have your names backwards. polaris 10 is the 480, the 460 is polaris 11.

Yeah, the complete Polaris lineup is 460, 470 and 480 none X's from what I gathered. Correct me if I'm wrong.

He never said anything of the sort, you assume that. All he said was if you had a 980 or 390x sell it not before the value plummets. right now 980s still go on ebay for 350ish bid, with time still left. The more information is leaked, slowly that will drop. Not as fast as OCN market, because Im sure alot of Ebay users arent in the loop. But there will be a point when they aren't even worth $250.

Again, If I personally could stand to sell my current card for MORE then what the card releasing in 2 weeks with similar performance, and stand to gain more Vram and long run better performance and driver support. I definitely would. sadly my 7950 is way past that point.

I'd guess he is an editor at wccftech
People should have put their 980s/390s on sale the moment AMD dropped the $200 bomb

You're correct, it is my assumption based on him recommending people to sell their cards. Lets face it, it's not even worth selling the 980Ti to get the 1080 IMHO. Everyones needs are different, I get it, but I sure wouldn't upgrade unless I see a 30% performance increase even though I have the money.

I get your drift, but I don't agree with upgrading for those reasons alone, at least I wouldn't.

That's a big overclock (1400MHz). I wonder if it will be obtainable for most people? If true, this performance will make the 1070 less appealing. I personally don't trust the results, but I hope it's true!
