A 480x for 50-100usd more 8GB and 2560SP@1.4GHz would be great

Not really. 1400MHz from 1266MHz is not that big. 28nm GCN card could hit 1200MHz. 1400MHz seems very possible.

Bought a fury X on clearance on Friday which was actually cheaper then a 1070 by $50

Happy with the buy but it won't be such good value if this 480 is as fast as it @ 200-250

That bad value vs 1070 lol. 4 vs 8GB vRAM, higher power consumption and lower performance.

AMD has never said that the release clock of RX480 is 1266MHz. It's just the number they used for the demo at Computex.

If nVidia can pull off 2100MHz with 16nm, I believe RX480 can reach 1400MHz. It will challenge 1070 stock in games, but not much when 1070 is clocked at 2000 MHz. Still with the $200 price tag, this card will be the next king of market share thumb.gif

From what I have seen perf is pretty comparable & varies by title a lot . I plan on playing through Quantum break, the new Hitman and then Total War- Warhammer next and am playing a fair bit of Forza Apex so for those games i'm sitting pretty. Will be interesting to see how the next wave of new releases hold up.

The higher score has been confirmed to be fake. It's simply a Titan X score written over. The OC is more likely to get somewhere between 3400-3600. Because the stock clock of the RX 480 has all but been confirmed to be 1266Mhz. I did a quick and lazy analysis that led me to the 3500ish score. The scaling on the clocks would have to be 200% if it could go from 1266Mhz to 1400Mhz and increase that much. 3500 takes into account a 95% scaling found in the Fury cards

the 1080Mhz is a joke, I'm almost certain of it.

Still, a 3500 score should get quite a few people to think twice about paying double the money on a Founders 1070

AMD hasn't confirmed the final clock of RX480, mate. The number at Computex is not the final one and is subjected to change

Every single leak up until this one, which has since literally been confirmed to be a fake, have suggested a 1266Mhz clock rate. Not to mention benchmarks that have stated 1266Mhz, have a similiar score to the "non-OC" 1080Mhz mentioned here. I doubt that AMD took a chip that is already in production and increased IPC by 20%.

It's actually less preposterous to assume the tested GPU at 1080Mhz is the full 40 CU Polaris

Did any of 1080 leak suggest the 2100 MHz? No? So please don't rule out any possibility mate. Still 2 weeks to NDA and with the 1070 numbers around, a BIOS change will not suprise me.
