Please don't post false numbers the Witcher 3 has not sold 20 million copies, the franchise has in total.

Like I said the GTX 980 and 390X can play a majority of games at 1440p at good framerates ie 60fps. This is not a lie.
Alright, you got me, I read the sales numbers wrong.

Can I ask what you mean? The 1070 AIB's seem to be about 410 to 415, the 670 launched for 400 back in 2012. The 680 was 500, the 7970 550. Counting for inflation, the price there has gown down.

The 1080 I could see the argument, with the 1080 being 600, but then again, this is the first generation of cards on a new process. Prices will be higher. And even so, the 780 launched at 650, and that was the second generation of GPUs on the same node. the 290x was a $550 GPU, and I dont think AMD was making much money off of those. And if you want to go REALLY far back, the GTX 260 launched at $400 (there was no 270), and the GTX 280 launched at $650 in 2008. So prices really havent gone anywhere.

Then, we saw the 980 come out, at $550. It was the third generation of GPU on 28nm, and was a much smaller/simpler die then kepler was. so $600 for the first gen 14nm cards sound right given the last 5 years of prices.

I think people only remember the price of the 970, which was a bit of a fluke. nvidia could afford to go that low due to the age of 28nm, and the struggle of trying to get kepler owners to buy maxwell. The rule seems to be ~400 for the x70 series, ~$550 for the x80. In which case, yes, the 1080 is abit overpriced, but not to the level people make it out to be.

Now, of course the FE prices are ridiculous, but then nobody in their right mind should be buying those. Fanboy editions are for the suckers who have too much money in their pockets.

The FE editions are what I'm upset about, there aren't any aftermarket coolers that work in small cases or SLI configurations that don't have a large space between PCI slots.

The evga acx cooler for 619 is no bigger then the standard blower, isnt it? It's only dual slot and doesnt go much above the bracket, unlike the $679 version. They also have a 609 blower model.

Size isn't the issue, it's where heat goes, mini-ITX need most of the heat to be blown out the back of the case, not dumped onto the CPU. If they do a that cheap blower on the 1070, I might change my tune.
