[cooln.kr] Leaked Korean RX480 OC Fire Strike Ultra - Page 4

Polaris 10 has a IPC greater than Pascal. Vega 10 has core count higher than GP100. Nvidia need to come out with smth beefier than 3840 cores than to stand a chance.

To put it into perspective, a 4096 cores Vega with HBM will very likely score a 7K FSU @ 1.4GHz, I dont think 1080 Ti can even compete, especially we dunno if 1.4GHz is the upper limit of the 14nm FF
cant compare core count like that

Im sure 1080Ti will beat big Vega by a little bit just like 980Ti beat Fury X thumb.gif

also 1080 already gets over 5000-5100 (IIRC) in stock in FSU, should be 5300-5400+ in max OC, so a 7000+ for 1080Ti should be well in reach

Intel has been treating us reasonably well with their i7 for $300. An Intel i7 will last you 5+ years with excellent performance, and probably won't stop working until the end of times.

Nvidia's $400 x70 series and $600 x80 series have conditioned us to accept ridiculous pricing for something with a lifecyle of 2-5 years. Let's be honest a GPU after 2 years is usually quite dated. After a few more, they start to break down and artifact.

We cant becz of diminishing return, but u forget Vega might be on even more advanced architectural than Polaris, and was design to take full advantage of HBM.

You will never know. If the diminishing law apply to Vega, den it apply to big pascal as well...

I'm really, really rooting for AMD right now, but Fiji was also designed to take advantage of HBM. Yet was outdone by the 980ti. How about we do the sensible thing and ... oh I don't know.. wait??

The i7 is a terrible value, when the $230 i5 is only 1FPS slower and lasts just as long. Only people that benefit from the i7 are content creators that hammer the CPU.

And GPUs only break down and artifact if you buy one with a terrible cooler, or have bad luck. my OG video card still works. A voodoo 3. From the late 90s. Only GPU I have that broke was a EVGA 7600GS that developed a bad memory chip. And dont act like the pricing is new. I remember the 8800GTX launching at $600 and AMD CPUs going for 500+, and that was in 2007. Or the 7970 launching at $550 in 2011. Prices really havent moved that much in the last decade.
