Just like how the PS4 and Xbox One crushed the 7970? They couldn't even outpace the 7870.

Perf per flop doesn't matter when there are upcoming Polaris GPUs and existing GPUs that are more powerful.

These "console optimizations" turned out to be nonsense in multi-platform titles in the PS4 and Xbox One generation.

Yes you are. Console optimization is nice and all,but my 5 year old 7970 was better than PS4 99% of times. There's no way this Xbox is going to match a flagship within this time frame.

Scorpio isn't releasing until late 2017, so Zen's timeline isn't an issue. MS did say it's 8 cores, so Cat cores and Zen are both possible, I think.

I won't deny that there are some improvements due to lower overhead. But quite often these "optimizations" are just lower graphical settings.

because your 5 year old gpu has same perf/tflops as ps4 and it has more of it ? duh

First Xbox was more powerful than PS2 but it lost because of lack of exclusives.

But what CPU and GPU does this have? AMD's Jaguar or Zen and Polaris?

since this mid-cycle refresh is so powerful does this mean this console generation will last past 2021? what about xbox three

Depends on what your definition of performance is.

On games that you can customize a bunch on like Fallout and Witcher 3, if you matched the settings on PC to that of the Console, the difference wouldn't be all that much. It's all those little things getting tweaked that are barely perceivable (like changing the LOD textures of trees to 512 instead of 1024 or 2048) that add a frame here and there that add up to give the perception of better performance.
