Display Issues with new Build

Thread Starter
I have made a watercooled system with three 780s and a 6950x and carbon godlike mobo with cpu and gpus watercooled.
I install a clean OS and then i try to install nvidia drivers, when installed i am asked to restart so i do so but after the windows loading screen i get a blank screen.
So i reinstalled windows and the driver and it happened again.
I didn't install the driver and just installed the supplied motherboard drivers from disk and it did it again.
So i decided to go back to install graphics drivers and when it showed no display i decided to wait for a while and a BSOD occurred:
DPC_WATCH_DOG_VIOLATION
Also I can boot into safe mode fine
EDIT: new BSOD-VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE
Any help Would be GREATLY appreciated.

UPDATE: after a while of running windows with no drivers i suddenly get black screen with a thick orange yellow and red pixelated line horizontally across screen and a bit of blue at the top of my screen image below.

I have also heard that this is a sign of overheating but my block are stone cold and the loop seems to be running fine

UPDATE: found on my BIOS using board explorer it detects 4 graphics cards when there is only three!? and the slot that doesnt have a graphics card is running at 16x and the three graphics cards are running at 8x
Also my sli config is slot one, two and four whereas according to this it should be slot one, four and five. Would this be the coause?

You should put the video cards in the recommended slots. If that doesn't work next thing to do is try the video cards one at a time to see if one is defective

I would but there connected in a water loop so i would have to drain the loop repeatedly to try the different setups

hmmmm no easy way to diagnose when everything is on water. Hopefully putting the cards in the recommended slots work. If not then you might have to put the stock coolers back on the video cards and start swapping. I would put the cpu on its own loop or revert to air cooler if you got one for testing purposes. I always try and test builds on air first to make sure its all working and then put on water to avoid massive headaches like this.

Also make sure your SLI bridge is installed correctly it being upside down might cause problems as well

Ok so i rearranged the graphics card to the motherboards manual but still same thing however i noticed that the graphics card in slot 1 is overheating. So could this be the reason? If so then is it possible to rearrange them back to the way they were. The reason why i want to move them back is that the 3rd graphics card is blocking all of my headers (control panel audio and USB).

Man.. I would be looking inside the overheating GPU waterblock for debris in the water channels.

Also start testing the cards individually. You are gonna have to do some trial error work. One card at a time could tell you 3 things at once.

1: is the motherboard good
2: If you have a bad video card, which one is it.
3: if you have an issue with a GPU block. (visually checking will too)

Yeah i was afraid of that. I know the motherboard is good as it is brand new so guess i'll have to check the graphics cards :L
UPDATE: Realised there is a lot of air in my loop so will bleed all the air then test it again, hopefully this is the issue.
