In most games, fury x is closer to the 980 than the 980ti. (unless things have changed drastically since I looked at some reviews on release on the fury x)

lmao.

Seriously though, generalizing VRAM use with broad statements like this is pointless. The OS and program can throw so many variables into the arguments that you cannot say that nothing will use more than 3.5Gb at 1440p. Skyrim can go beyond that at 1080p with some tweaks from the vast amount of mods and after market content available. And thats nearly 5 years old on an ancient game engine designed to run on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

It sounds awfully like someone saying that there's nothing past the mountains just because he has never been past the mountains. wink.gif

It's a generalization fallacy commonly made by the poorly educated. You can find many examples of this fallacy all day in the forums.

Maybe at 1080p? Ι play at 1440p and above and generally check 1440p-4k benchies where the 980 is nowhere near a Fury X. My most played games this year have been Battlefront,Division,Far Cry Primal, The Witcher 3 and with the exception of the last one , the 980 is just nowhere near a Fury X.

That might be true but that is also Dx11 and that means it will be 980+ in Dx12 smile.gif sounds about equal to 980 performance for less money and power consumption.

These are windows7/8.1 scores, on windows10 it does a touch higher than 980. Its designed for the way win10 works.

Seconded. Games will use more than 3.5GB of Vram. Dying Light uses 3.6GB of my 960M's 4GB allocation on ultra settings. tongue.gif Also, that's at only 1080p. Already disproven.
