Yeah i think no matter how negative some reviewers get about this card (i could tell you who they would be - cough hardocp etc) most people will see it for what it is , putting NV in its place over performance per $ . Founders Edition type tactics need to stop , the gauging that goes on paper releases make these cards dear enough.

The poor scores of 2889 fsu is due to base clock of 1080 mhz. Scale that up to 1500mhz and tell me the result.

while this bench shows where this card is supposed to stand, can we take it as an accurate assumption of performance?
i don't think this should be taken as is, since maybe polaris is better in benchmarks than in actual gaming workloads.

probably getting rid of excess GTX970/980/980Ti stocks in stores, otherwise with GTX1070 out it'll bury those cards until they further drop prices.

it would be the same thing with RX480 blocking the mainstream cards, nobody would buy an R9-390X for $300~$400 with an RX480 8GB being around $250.
those stores with stocks of R9-380/380X/390/390X will end up with a rotting inventory, they'd probably put those cards on a bundle or discount it with 50% off.
