That's one of the reason am getting rid of the 970 for a 480 8GB card. Will be using this until vega comes out or Ti. Then put that in my other rig.

If legit, I doubt it. I bet we can OC these guys to over 980 ti performance. 1400 to 1500 mhz with stock cooler 8 pin. 1500 to 1700mhz water cooled 8 + 6 pin.

All of this seems to reinforce the other rumours which is basically 390x performance at stock. But how much overclocking headroom is there? The gpu core speed is not that much faster than previous gen cards. Nvidia meanwhile really boosted speeds to over 2 ghz on their new 10xx line. I know these are new architectures with different thermal enevelops but it is an intriguing question.

This may be an amazing card if it overclocks well. I for one, hope that RX 480's work with my Kraken cooler.

I'm happy with that. Now the waiting game commences.

What happened with that site that had a non-NDA 480 and was going to release benchmarks today?

It all depends on what leak is true and which isn't. Going by this one even with a 25% oc (1583), with .95 scaling, the RX480 would still be slower than Fury X.

I definitely don't expect p10 to clock like pascal, but I would definitely be willing to bet we will see custom RX480s around the 1500-1550 area, much more would be really, really surprising.

I meant the site that supposedly had the actual card, not just another rumor collection from Videocardz.

Edit: This one:

Probably the ones that place the RX 480 at 390 levels of performance - inline with AMD's own statements.
