I thought someone said it installs along side the original but doesn't actually replace it.

Correct. It should be like DiRT 3 and DiRT 3 Complete Edition.

If you owned DiRT 3 on Steam before GFWL shutdown, you got a free copy of DiRT 3 Complete Edition alongside the original.

I think it's weird to do this for Skyrim. I'd rather they had remastered Morrowind or gone full throttle on TES VI (with a new engine). While the graphical enhancements for this will be nice, I doubt it will be much better (if at all) than what the modding community has already achieved.

Sadly they would be easing on the throttle on TES VI either way, since they have new IPs in the works (and I wish they did not).

Skywind is still in development I think. Unless they add a lot to the map though, Morrowind + Morrowind Rebirth will be better.

530 hours here. What's amazing to me is that they're getting mod support for consoles now. I don't think I've ever heard of that before.

I read the liks provided by Roman and it sounds to me like Beth did what they said the wouldn't do, when Fallout 4 was released Beth made a statement that they had ported Skyrim to the new creation engine as a learning experience but that the finished product would never see the light of day, this port gave Skyrim 64bit support, the second link confirms that Skyrim special edition will have 64bit support same as Fallout4, better memory management with more resources can only be a good thing for modders.

"Update: Bethesda community lead Matt Grandstaff has confirmed that the Skyrim Special Edition will indeed be 64-bit. Let the good times roll"

Mod console support for Fallout 4 exposed serious problems with stealing. A number of mod authors have already stated they will not support the new version unless Bethesda changes their policy and take a more aggressive approach to stolen mods and a few have already removing their mods from Nexus.

They are also saying elder scrools 6 is going to be made but its a long way off, at least behind '2 very large games' bethesda says. They say the technology doesn't exist right now to do with ES6 what they want to do. On a side note, I also believe that with HL3, I think valve is waiting for practical photo realism in games before making it.

They're adding new spells.

My understanding of how FO4 mod support for consoles worked is that the console could only get there mods from Beth's official FO4 mod site, Steam work shop and the Nexus would continue to be PC only but I haven't played either Skyrim or FO4 since before Beth's Mod site went live, the last up date I received was "the mechanist"

The issue is console players downloading mods for the pc on Nexus and uploading to Bethesda.net and taking credit for creating the mod. Bethesda response is extremely poor and makes the original mod author jump hoops to have it taken down.
