On a low budget, are these parts decent?

I've never used AMD before and the low prices fit my budget right now. A leak probably killed my cpu or mobo and replacing them is too expensive. I'm not concerned about losing half my ram, 64 gb is overkill anyway.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00DQO9L1Q/ref=pd_aw_vtph_147_lp_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=R2VWQ0H59CEVY766PZQ4

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B009O7YORK/ref=pd_aw_fbt_147_img_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=V3BQWQW1A3ZPKT9VS29P

These are good parts right? Is there anything better for the money?

are you wanting at least 6 cores?
there is a promo deal on newegg for a better AM3+ board for about the same price as the one you listed http://pcpartpicker.com/product/Tsw323/asrock-motherboard-970extreme3r20
if you can manage the extra $20 the 8300 is worth it over the 6300 http://pcpartpicker.com/product/qmrcCJ/amd-cpu-fd8300wmhkbox

If you want to save more money heres a good FM2+ quad core option on full ATX board

Thanks for the links, I think I can manage the extra 20. What are the main differences between the two boards? I need 6 sata ports for all my hdd/sdd's and dvd drive.

I see. Well I also just noticed it's a mail in rebate deal so nevermind that one.

This Biostar has 6 sata ports and supports 64GB of RAM for $50 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138372&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

That board is fine so long as you don't intend to overclock to the limit. It's a great choice for the 95W FX chips.

That board looks nice but all of the low reviews say how fast it died. Should I be concerned about that motherboard?

In Newegg, the ASUS motherboard you wanted to buy has 26% 1 star (low) reviews vs 22% of the Biostar.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1N83UD9812

These are cheap motherboards, you can't expect excellency. I 'd pick the Biostar too, because you get SATA3, heatsink on VRM, more expansion slots and with 95W TDP most likely you won't have troubles. But all motherboards can die, even more so the cheaper ones. The motherboards is maybe the most failure prone component of a PC after the HDDs.

What the Biostar lacks in comparison to other 4+1 phase 970 motherboards, is UEFI and front USB3 header.

I should've checked neweggs review of that asus lol. I'll most likely get that 8 core and the biostar. How much of a drop in performance should I expect in games, if any? Going from an i7 3930k to the fx 8300, gpu is staying the same, 780 ti.

The ASUS board you linked to is an excellent board for an office/desktop machine. Ive put in over 20 of these with only 1 failure so far. It just is not a high performance unit and overclocking will be limited. It is otherwise a solid board.

If you get the FX8300, you 'd better overclock it to 4Ghz. The Biostar should be able to make it. Basically you will have to follow this procedure here:

http://www.overclock.net/t/1602533/help-with-oc-my-fx-8320-on-a-extreme4-motherboard#post_25241923

So in effect, you will have an 8350. I can't tell you about game performance, since i play too few games, but in general, if a game uses few cores, you will see more performance loss. If a game uses many cores, less loss.

If there was an ideal game that loads 100% all cores, the 8300@4Ghz, would perform approximately like an i7 3770. Unfortunately most games don't do that. If you could buy a better motherboard, you could overclock to 4.5Ghz and have better game performance. But at 4Ghz you will still be able to play well most games i think.
