I just hope they have ITX versions available soon after launch - it'll be a fantastic HTPC card.

Yeah me too.. I asked Ed Crisler from Sapphire about potential ITX form factor cards on Twitter.. and his answer was "only the Shadow knows"

I would say it's more like going to a 980 to 980 Ti that uses significantly less energy and outputs far less heat and only costs 230$ for the 8 gig model.

It's obvious this card is going to be one of the most popular cards ever released unless nvidia can rush the 1060 out in the next month or 2.

I myself am more than willing to upgrade from a 290 to a 480 if performance, power draw, and temps are accurate. I would love a system that has a good 30% boost in performance, was far quieter and cooler. thumb.gif

you liked the reference 290's? I have one and boy are they loud and hot... It's part of the reason I'm thinking about getting a 480

I just like AMDs reference designs (just aesthetics not performance). The 290s they tried to hard I think and gave them those weird protrusions.

If this card really stays in the 60s with the reference design I'll grab a couple for mine and my kids computers.

The Fury X was a massive and unmitigated failure as it overclocked like a pig out of the gate and HBM1 did nothing for real world performance. This card should be a decent upgrade for the <970/390 crowd and do just fine at retail regardless of the reviews.

The first card that really maxes 1080P at $200 or less will sell a TON of cards. Looks like AMD very well could be it!

Why do the 8gb and 4gb score so close together? Does firestrike ultra not need much more than 4gb?
Ill either get this or start offering 200 to 250 for a 980 Ti...screw you pascal lol
post #19 of 410
Ooh, reference card looks to be a 1/8 inch shorter than an ATX board! This just gets better and better for me. If this card is shorter than 240mm, it's a day 1 buy for me.
